Jeju United vice-captain Koo Ja-cheol (34), who played for a long time in the German Bundesliga, declared that he would do his best for the fans in the new season.

Koo Ja-cheol said at a press conference at the 2023 K-League Winter Field Training Media Camp held in Jeju on the 7th, “I want to return the love I received from the people of Jeju.”

Koo Ja-cheol, who played an active role as a member of the Korean national soccer team, returned to the K-League after 11 years as he returned to his hometown team Jeju in March of last year after a long life in Europe and the Middle East.

Ahead of the 2023 season, Koo Ja-cheol joined the captaincy when he was appointed as Jeju vice-captain. Koo Ja-cheol, who is preparing for the new season with great responsibility, expressed his gratitude for the fans’ generous affection.

The following is Koo Ja-cheol’s Q&A.

  • You commented during the World Cup. It must have been a good experience.

During the World Cup, I wanted to be with my juniors and players to represent the country and give them joy and hope. It’s a very happy time, and I want to make Jeju residents love Jeju more and take pride in it this season while taking a break and recharging.

-Which was easier between soccer and broadcasting?

What I have been doing is easy because I can do it the best (meaning soccer). Still, I really liked this part of the commentary because I had the heart to be with the players while watching them in person through the World Cup.

-You came back to Jeju last season, and it was a disappointing season. Can we expect improved performances in the new season?

We are preparing hard. I am always careful about injuries and have completed my winter training without any problems with my muscles and condition. I am sure it will help the team if I can consistently come out without injury.

I also want to do my best to share joy with the K-League fans and the people of Jeju. Residents of the island welcomed me wherever I went, so I want to return that love to the playground.

-Director Nam Gi-il said he wanted to break the Yanggang composition between Ulsan Hyundai and Jeonbuk Hyundai.

First of all, football can be won by scoring a goal. You have to score a goal but not concede to get 3 points, and you have to get 3 points to break the two-way structure. Joo Min-gyu and Zerso were responsible for many goals for the team in the previous season, but as they left the team, they had to break the Yanggang composition with another attacking team.

In that sense, players like Yuri and Hays, who have transferred, are showing good performances, so I think we should continue to show a solid appearance as a team and play a lot of high-goal games. 카지노

-Director Nam Ki-il explained that he actively communicates with the captain and talks about recruiting.

Not really. Because they have the cause of being the ‘leaders’, whenever the director wants to communicate with them, it’s easy to approach them. The captains are the players who play an important role in the team and are seniors, so they are a means of bridging the players as a communication channel.

In that aspect, while preparing for this season, there were many cases where the coach approached me first. If you have a lot of conversation, you can’t help but build trust, so these parts are working well.
