The unranked pair of Park Kang-hyun (Korea Water Resources Corporation) and Jang Woo-jin (Mirae Asset Securities) won gold at the World Table Tennis (WTT) Contender Tunis ($75,000 prize fund).
Park Kang-hyun and Jang Woo-jin defeated 메이저놀이터 Cho Dae-sung and Cho Seung-min (unranked – Samsung Life) 3-2 (11-9 8-11 5-11 12-10 11-5) in the men’s doubles final on the final day of the tournament in Tunis, Tunisia, on Saturday morning. For the second consecutive tournament, the Korean men’s table tennis team won the doubles title, following the victory of Lim Jong-hoon (Korea Exchange)-Jang Woo-jin at last week’s Contender Lagos.
Earlier, Shin Yoo-bin (Korean Air) won the women’s singles and Shin Yoo-bin and Lim Jong-hoon were runners-up in the mixed doubles. Korean Table Tennis ended the tournament with one championship trophy and three runner-up trophies.
The Korean players will now travel to Zagreb, Croatia, to compete in the WTT Contender Zagreb ($75,000 prize pool), where they will once again look to accumulate ranking points.
